Castas, DNA, and Identity: Who are we? What did our ancestors say about themselves? What does DNA tell us about Identity?
Part I  In Part I of an ongoing series, Mr. Cervantes will explore the connection of the Castas system in colonial New Mexico. Mr. Cervantes will show how DNA studies compare to the Spanish Castas system and the ramifications on modern identity. He will discuss which families reflect the Castas system through DNA analysis.
